Indonesia railways connecting cities around Java. It operated only by Kereta Api Indonesia If you never take Rail train before and had plan to take train, here some tips for you:
1. Direct Buy or via Online
Rail Ticket coul be bought by two ways. You can go to Rail Station. I recomend you go to Gambir Station. It has been prepared for foreign tourist. Direct sale counter located in the south side station. You should be aware that ticket will be sold eventually at friday night. Because most of Indonesian people went to home whose outside Jakarta. The simple way is you order through website or Apps. For Website you can order via official Kereta Api Indonesia, Tiket.com, padiciti.com, or TiketKAI.com. All website have apps in google play store such as KAI Acces (Official Kereta Api), Tiket.com, padiciti.com. Its simply because has been support in English and payment with credit card could be done. Besides that buy rail ticket online you can arrange your trip and choose schedule as simply as in home.

2. Remember your kode booking.
After the transaction finished and payment was done you will receive E-ticket. You will see booking codes usually six digit alpha number please remember this code for print out ticket in the station. Usually those receipt ticket will be sent to your email.

3. Print out Ticket.
You must printed ticket before entering Boarding room. Ticket could be printed out in the self checking print counter with insert six booking codes which will get after done with payment. Monitor on the self checking print counter has been equipped with touch screens features so you just insert codes and ticket will be printed out. If you got the ticket on the hand, please prepare your passport for boarding check. The names between passport and ticket shall be matched. Officier will verify your name on the ticket to your passport and they will inform you which platform for your train.
